Regulations relating to the composition, production and labeling of wine and spirits intended for sale in the Republic of South Africa. (3 page(s), in English)

The proposed regulations amend current composition, production and labelling regulations of the Liquor Products Act for wine, liqueur and spirits. Amendments to allowed grape varieties and certification procedures relating to wine certified for origin under the Wine of Origin Scheme. Imported concentrated must used in wine to be declared on the label, new grape varietals allowed for wine production, Alternative Rose added as a wine class, egg to be added for use in the production of a liqueur, addition of tannin and Potassium Polyaspartate, definitions for single malt whisky and blended malt whisky, submission of vineyard status returns to be compulsory for local wine producers and indication of varieties on a label to bring legislation in line with international agreements.
