The draft Law provides for the introduction of procedures to regulate the content of trans-fatty acids in food products offered to the final consumer by amending the Laws of Ukraine "On Basic Principles and Requirements to Food Safety and Quality", "On Information for Consumers regarding Food Products".

The provisions of this draft Law do not apply to trans fatty acids naturally found (present) in foods.

The draft Law stipulates that food products that meet the requirements in effect prior to the entry into force of this Law, but do not meet the requirements of this Law, may be in circulation on the market of Ukraine until the end of their shelf life.
