Turkish Food Codex Communiqué on Amending the Communiqué on Spices

Turkish Food Codex Communiqué on Spice, which was notified through G/SPS/N/TUR/112 (9 January 2020), sets out the characteristics of spices.

This amendment introduces a prohibition on the use of fennel products by children under four years of age; revises the maximum foreign matter limit (% m/m) for oregano (oregano/thyme-type herbs*) and mint at 1; and revises the value in the column "Non-volatile ether extract on dry matter basis, min. % (m/m)" for "Coconut" from "65" to "60".
