In order to protect human health and the environment, the Thai government by the Ministry of Industry is prohibiting the use of "dicofol", effective 8 July 2025. Therefore, the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) proposes to revise Annex 1, List of hazardous substance type 4 (banned pesticide), and Annex 2, Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs), of Notification of the Ministry of Public Health No. 460 (B.E. 2568) (2025) Re: Food Containing Pesticide Residues (Pesticide Residues in Food), issued on 12 June 2025.

This revised MOPH Notification shall be called the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No. …) B.E. .... issued by virtue of the Food Act B.E. 2522, entitled "Re: Food Containing Pesticide Residues (Pesticide Residues in Food) (No. 2)", which are amended as follows:

1.    Add the pesticide defined as hazardous substance type 4 under the Hazardous Substance Act B.E. 2535 (1992) in the annex 1 of the Notification of MOPH No. 460, namely "Dicofol", which the amounts of pesticide residues in food shall not be detected (at the limit of detection (LOD) specified in Annex 5);

2.    Delete the Maximum Residue Limit (MRLs) of Dicofol in food from annex 2 of the MOPH Notification No. 460;

3.    This draft notification shall come into force after the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.
