The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) has proposed to withdraw the Thai Industrial Standard for switches for household and similar fixed – electrical installations: general requirements (TIS 824- 2551 (2008)) and replace it with switches for household and similar fixed – electrical installations: part 1 general requirements (TIS 824- 25XX (20XX)) as a mandatory standard.
This standard covers manually operated general purpose switches, used for A.C. only with rated voltage not exceeding 440 V and rated current not exceeding 63 A. It is intended for household and similar fixed electrical installations, both indoors and outdoors. For switches provided with screw less terminals the rated current is limited to 16A.
