The purpose of the notified draft Regulation is to specify on the labels of primary agricultural foods information on the name of the food, net content, country of origin, name and address of the sanitary authorization holder, name and address of the importer, sanitary authorization of the agri-food primary processing establishment, batch identification, expiry date and instructions for consumption and storage, to allow consumers to make appropriate choices on consumption. It also enhances SENASA's competence in the surveillance and control of the safety of primary agricultural foods.
