The notified draft Mexican Official Standard establishes commercial information to be included on textile products, articles of apparel, clothing accessories and household linen.
The commercial information referred to in this draft Official Mexican Standard applies to textile products, articles of apparel, clothing accessories and household linen, prior to their entry into the country, which are made of textile materials (even if they contain plastics or other materials) and are marketed on Mexican territory.
The labelling of textile products, articles of apparel and household linen contains five important pieces of information:
Product manufacturer;
Country of origin;
Composition of fibres (content description);
Care (preservation and cleaning) instructions;
5. Apparel sizes and dimensions or measurements of household linen and textiles.
The draft Mexican Official Standard applies to manufacturers and importers of the products covered by this Standard.
It applies to textile products, articles of apparel, clothing accessories and household linen, whose textile composition is equal to or exceeds 50% of their mass.
It does not apply to electric blankets, disposable diapers, sanitary napkins, swabs, wet wipes, toys made of textile materials, costumes, furniture, textile watch straps, badges, flags, zip fasteners and/or zips, buttons and buckles lined with textile material, cloths, oven mitts, make-up cases, disposable cleaning fibres and those intended to be used as packaging.
