Amendment of Safety Standards for 3 Electrical Appliances (Luminaires).

·           KC 10023: Self- ballasted LED lamps for general lighting services (12 pages, in Korean)

·           KC 61195: Double-capped fluorescent lamps – Safety specifications (26 pages, in Korean) 

·           KC 62035: Discharge lamps (excluding fluorescent lamps) – Safety specifications (22 pages, in Korean)

KATS proposes to amend the existing technical regulation (KC 10023) to eliminate duplication in mandatory certification requirements for Korea Certification (KC) and Energy Efficiency Rating Certification. Additionally, KC 61195 and KC 62035 will be amended to implement the Minamata Convention on Mercury. KC 61195 intends to control mercury levels in LFLs (general lighting) and add missing items in former revision of standard. KC 62035 intends to prohibit the use of HPMW for indoor lighting purpose.
