The Republic of Korea has amended its phytosanitary regulation concerning the importation of seeds for sowing and pollen for pollination. Effective 5 September 2026, all imports of seed for sowing and pollen for pollination must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the NPPO of the exporting country, regardless of the means of transport or quantity. This phytosanitary measure has been introduced to address the risk associated with the detection of unauthorized living modified organisms (LMOs) and quarantine pests in imported seeds.
