SI 1318 part 2 - Wine, wine based beverages and beverages based on vitivinicultural products: Requirements and test methods (15 page(s), in Hebrew)

Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 1318 part 2, dealing with the requirements and test methods of wine and wine-based beverages. This standard should be read together with the Israel Mandatory Standard SI 1318 Part 1 and is based on the following international documents:

  • International Standard for the Labeling of Wines – Edition 2012 (by OIV);

  • Compendium of International Methods of Wine and Must Analysis – Volume 1 and 2 – Edition 2013 (by OIV);

  • European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 607/2009.

The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follow:

  • Deletes the requirement to mark the wine color and denominate wine-based beverages and beverages based on vitivinicultural products according to sugar content;

  • Amends the labeling requirements to mark the producer's name and the Kosher marking;

  • Adds new designated names for particular aromatized wine products according to sugar content.

Both the old standard and this new revised standard will apply from the date of entry into force of this revision for a period of at least two years. During this time wines can be tested according to the old or the new revised standard.

All sections of the revised standard will be declared mandatory.
