Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 1220 part 1, dealing with smoke detectors. This draft standard revision adopts the American-Canadian Standard ANSI/UL 268 - Seventh Edition: 11 January 2016 and all its amendments until 15 July 2016, with a few changes that appear in the standard's Hebrew section.  The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follows:

·         Adds to the standard's scope also smoke detector such as smoke detector with supplementary heat detection type, combination smoke type, multi-criteria type;

·         Adds new requirements for the durability of the smoke detector's sensitivity;

·         Adds for smoke detectors with short components durability, an "end-of-life" signal requirements;

·         Adds a new requirement for low-frequency alarm signal;

·         Adds new requirements for RF equipment installation;

·        Adds a new requirement for the foam (polyurethane) burning.
