-         SI 1548 part 1 - Children's furniture: Mattresses for cots and cribs - Safety requirements and test methods (6 pages in Hebrew and 27 pages in English); 

-         SI 1548 part 2 - Children's furniture: Mattresses for perambulators and bumpers for children's cots, perambulators and similar domestic articles (8 pages in Hebrew and 15 pages in English)

Revision of the partially Mandatory Standard SI 1548, dealing with mattresses for cots and cribs to be replaced with SI 1548 parts 1 and 2. These draft standard revisions adopt the following European Standards:

·         SI 1548 part 1 deals with the safety requirements and test methods for mattresses for cots and cribs, and adopts the European Standard EN 16890: May 2017, with a few changes and national deviations that appear in the standard's Hebrew sections as follows:

·         Changes the normative references (paragraph 2);

·         Replaces the requirements of paragraph 7 dealing with ignition resistance;

·         Adds two new marking requirements to paragraph 9.1;

·         Deletes sub-section d). from paragraph 9.2 dealing with purchase information;

·         Adds a few new instructions for use to paragraph 9.3;

·         Adds a new paragraph 9.4 dealing with the presence of phthalates.

·         SI 1548 part 2 deals with mattresses for perambulators and bumpers for children's cots, and adopts the European Standard EN 1877-10: 2011 + A1:2012, with a few changes and national deviations that appear in the standard's Hebrew sections as follows:

·         Changes the normative references (paragraph 2);

·         Adds a new compliance requirement to paragraph 4.3 dealing with mattress construction;

·         Adds new requirements to paragraph 4.4 dealing with covering materials;

·         Adds new marking requirements to paragraph 7;

·         Adds new packaging requirements to paragraph 8;

·         Adds a new paragraph 9 dealing with ignition resistance.

All requirements of the revised standards shall be declared mandatory.

Both the old standard and this new revised standard will apply from entry into force of the revision for a period of 90 days. During this time, products may be tested according to the old or the new revised standards.
