SI 12790 - Reclined cradles (33 page(s), in English; 7 page(s), in Hebrew)

All requirements of the existing Israel Standard, SI 12790, dealing with reclined cradles, shall be declared mandatory. This declaration is in-line with the mandatory standardization objective to protect human safety.

This standard specifies safety requirements and the corresponding test methods for fixed or folding reclined cradles intended for children up to a weight of 9 kg or who are unable to sit up unaided.  The declaration aims to protect babies from injuries.

This standard adopts the European Standard EN 12790: March 2009, with a few changes appearing in the standard's Hebrew section as follows:

  • Defines the different types and uses of reclined baby cradles and the different Mandatory Standards applying (scope and Annex B);

  • Changes the normative references (section 2);

  • Adds new section 4.3 detailing the requirements for formaldehyde content in wooden products;

  • Adds new section 4.4 detailing the requirements for phthalates content in PVC cradles;

  • Adds new Hebrew warnings requirements (section 7.1 and Annex C);

  • Replaces sub-section a) of section 7.2 dealing with marking;

  • Deletes sub-section e) of section 7.3 dealing with purchase information.
