Draft Commission implementing Regulation amending Implementing Regulation (EU) No 901/2014 with regard to the adaptation of the templates for type-approval procedures for two- or three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles to the environmental steps Euro 5 and Euro 5+ requirements (3 pages + Annex 5 pages, in English)

Regulation (EU) 2019/129 introduces, among other amendments, a staggered application of new requirements for the on-board diagnostics (OBD) system and for the requirements and emission limit values applicable to test type I, (tailpipe emissions after cold start), test type IV (evaporative emissions) and test type V (durability testing). Following this timetable, the environmental step Euro 5 will be applicable in two stages: the first one will be applicable as of 1.1.2020 and the second one as of 1.1.2024. The enclosed draft implementing act details in the administrative type-approval templates which vehicles are compliant with the first stage, identified as environmental step "Euro 5", of those compliant with the second stage, identified as environmental step "Euro 5+" to facilitate the type-approval process and to allow national authorities their identification.
