Draft Commission Implementing Decision repealing Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/2619 postponing the expiry date of the approval of hydrochloric acid for use in biocidal products of product-type 2 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council; (3 page(s), in English)

This draft Commission Implementing Decision repeals the postponement of the expiry date of the approval of hydrochloric acid as an active substance for use in biocidal products of product type 2.

On 26 October 2022, an application was submitted in accordance with Article 13(1) of the Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (BPR) for the renewal of the approval of hydrochloric acid for PT 2. On 25 February 2026 the Agency adopted its opinion on hydrochloric acid for PT 2, having regard to the conclusions of the evaluating competent authority.

Given the opinion of the Agency, it is appropriate to renew the approval of hydrochloric acid for PT 2. Consequently, a draft Implementing Regulation is being prepared to renew the approval of hydrochloric acid for PT 2 (examination procedure under Regulation (EU) No 182/2011). Further to that Implementing Regulation, it is necessary to repeal the postponement of the expiry date of the approval of hydrochloric acid. The present draft Decision therefore intends to repeal Decision (EU) 2023/2619 postponing the expiry date of the approval of hydrochloric acid for PT 2.
