The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by mattresses, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting human health and preventing deceptive practices.
It applies to the following products:
Mattresses for household use.
It does not apply to:
Spring mattresses used for sofa-beds;
Mattresses for hospital use; Products to be filled with water or inflated with air or other gases, such as: mattresses, mats, chairs, inflatable bags, mattress toppers and futons.
