The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the labelling requirements to be met by self-tapping and self-drilling screws with different types of heads, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with a view to preventing deceptive practices.

The notified Technical Regulation applies to the following products:

Self-tapping screws

·         Hexagon head self-tapping screws

·         Slotted pan head self-tapping screws

·         Slotted countersunk (flat) head self-tapping screws

·         Slotted raised countersunk (oval) head self-tapping screws

·         Cross-recessed pan head self-tapping screws

·         Cross-recessed countersunk (flat) head self-tapping screws

·         Cross-recessed raised countersunk (oval) head self-tapping screws

·         Hexagon washer head self-tapping screws

·         Hexalobular socket pan head self-tapping screws

·         Hexalobular socket countersunk head self-tapping screws

·         Hexalobular socket raised countersunk (oval) head self-tapping screws

·         Heat-treated steel self-tapping screws

·         Stainless steel self-tapping screws

·         Self-tapping screw and washer assemblies with plain washers

·         Plain washers for self-tapping screw and washer assemblies. Normal and large series. Product grade A
