The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the labelling requirements to be met by self-tapping and self-drilling screws with different types of heads, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with a view to preventing deceptive practices.

It applies to the following products:

1.    Self-tapping threaded screws;

2.    Hexagon head self-tapping screws;

3.    Slotted pan head self-tapping screws;

4.    Slotted countersunk (flat) head self-tapping screws;

5.    Slotted raised countersunk (oval) head self-tapping screws;

6.    Heat-treated steel self-tapping screws;

7.    Stainless steel self-tapping screws;

8.    Cross-recessed pan head self-tapping screws;

9.    Cross-recessed countersunk (flat) head self-tapping screws;

10.  Cross-recessed raised countersunk (oval) head self-tapping screws;

11.  Hexagon washer head self-tapping screws;

12.  Self-tapping screw and washer assemblies with plain washers;

13.  Self-drilling screws with tapping screw thread;

14.  Plain washers for self-tapping screw and washer assemblies. Normal and large series. Product grade A;

15.  Hexalobular socket pan head self-tapping screws;

16.  Hexalobular socket countersunk head self-tapping screws;

17.  Hexalobular socket raised countersunk (oval) head self-tapping screws;
