The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by sugar confectionery, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting human health and preventing deceptive practices.
It applies to the following products:
· Sweets, toffees, caramels, pastilles, drops, lozenges, sugar-coated (panned) goods, gum confectionery, jelly confectionery, fruit pastes and nougat;
· Chewing/bubble gum.
The notified Technical Regulation does not apply to: Sugar confectionery containing cocoa.
