The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by meat products, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting human health and preventing deceptive practices.

It applies to the following products:

·         Raw meat products, cured/matured meat products, and cooked/pre-cooked meat products and preformed meat products;

·         Preserved meat.

It does not apply to: Fish products, raw shellfish and crustaceans, and substitutes of meat products.
