The notified draft Technical Regulation establishes the requirements to be met by steel products for concrete reinforcement, prior to the marketing of domestic and imported products, with the aim of protecting human safety and preventing misleading practices.

The notified Technical Regulation applies to the following products:

1.    Hot-rolled corrugated and plain carbon steel rods for concrete reinforcement, whether in bars or coils;

2.    Deformed hot-rolled, weldable, micro-alloyed and heat treated steel rods for concrete reinforcement, whether in bars or coils;

3.    Cold-formed wire for concrete reinforcement;

4.    Electrically-welded wire mesh for concrete reinforcement, made with cold-formed wire; 

5.    Steel fibres.
