Proyecto de Reglamento Técnico RTE INEN 010 "Vajillas y artículos de vidrio, cerámica y vitrocerámica destinados a estar en contacto con alimentos" (Draft Ecuadorian Standardization Institute Technical Regulation (RTE INEN) No. 010 "Glass, ceramic and glass-ceramic ware and tableware intended to come into contact with food")

The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation applies to the following products, whether domestic or imported, marketed in Ecuador:

·        Glass, ceramic and glass-ceramic ware intended to be used for the preparation, cooking, serving and storage of food and beverages.

·        Glass, ceramic and glass-ceramic tableware intended to be used for the preparation, cooking, serving and storage of food and beverages.

·        Ceramic kitchen utensils for cooking food.

The notified Ecuadorian Technical Regulation does not apply to:

·        Glass, ceramic, glass-ceramic products classified as ornaments, toilet articles, or works of craftsmanship.

·        Glassware and glass tableware, enamelled.

·        Porcelain or china ware and tableware, enamelled.

·        Ceramic tableware classified as toys, which must comply with RTE INEN No. 089 "Toy safety", which is currently in force.

·       Glass, ceramic, glass-ceramic ware, glass cutlery, and all articles used in food production industries or those in which good and beverages are marketed.
