The Regulation for Formulation Registration of Infant Formula Milk Powder Products was issued in 2016. It is now revised to effectively guarantee the quality and safety of infant formula milk powder, strengthen the scientific and safety examination on product formulas. The main contents of the revision are as follows: (1) Strict formula registration. It requires a complete production process in applicants; clarifies seven non-registrated cases; refines the prohibitive requirements on labels and instructions and clarifies the requirements for changing the submission materials of the application. (2) Strengthen punishment for violations. (3) Shorten the testing time on samples from 30 to 20 working days. (4) Define approval procedure and responsibilities.
