The notified document authorizes the importation of alfalfa hay, straw, pellets and cubes and other fodder crops, their products and by-products, for animal feed, under the following conditions:

-         For non-dehydrated or heat-treated hay and straw: mandatory presentation of a health certificate, stating that the product comes from a foot-and-mouth disease-free country or area, with or without vaccination, following the completion of a pest risk analysis by the Agricultural Protection Division of the Agriculture and Livestock Service and establishment of the phytosanitary requirements authorizing the importation of these products.

-         For pellets and industrially dehydrated and heat-treated hay, straw and cubes: mandatory presentation of a health certificate, indicating that the products' centre reached a minimum temperature of 80°C, for at least 10 minutes, during the manufacturing process.
