The notified protocol establishes the certification procedure for instantaneous water heaters, in accordance with the scope and field of application of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Standard No. 60335-2-35.

Examples of instantaneous water heaters:

- Electric showers

- Electric hot water taps

- Tankless water heaters

  It is not applicable to storage water heaters (electric water heaters), to which IEC Standard No. 60335-2-21 applies.
