This RVS (Guideline for the Design of Road Tunnels and Galleries) is to be applied to the planning of new road tunnels and galleries, taking into account national laws (Road Tunnel Safety Act [STSG], Road Traffic Regulations [StVO], etc.). In the case of renovations, it applies mutatis mutandis, provided that this does not contradict the principle of proportionality.
