Draft Royal Decree regulating the accessible labelling of consumer products.

The purpose of the Royal Decree is to regulate labelling that ensures the universal accessibility of those consumer goods and products that are of particular relevance to protection of the safety, integrity and quality of life of persons with disabilities, especially persons with visual disabilities, as vulnerable consumers. In addition, the regulations cover personalised assistance in shops for people with visual impairments, as well as any ad hoc help required by those who, due to their disability, request it during the shopping process.

This labelling shall apply to consumer goods and products of particular relevance to the protection of the safety, wellbeing and quality of life of people with disabilities, as listed in the Annex to this standard, and that are marketed in Spain.
The labels shall be printed in retail establishments with a sales and display area of 1,000 m² or more.
