Draft decree implementing Article 33 of Law No 2024-449 of 21 May 2024 aimed at securing and regulating the digital space.

Law No. 2024-449 of 21 May 2024 aimed at securing and regulating the digital space (known as ‘SREN’) requires cloud service providers, in particular, to publish information on their environmental footprint.

The decree aims to implement the obligation, laid down in Law No. 2024-449 of 21 May 2024, for cloud service providers to publish detailed environmental information (greenhouse gas emissions, energy and water consumption).
The aim is to improve transparency and user information on the environmental impact of digital services, in line with European commitments on the green and digital transition.
