Regulation of the Minister of Development and Technology amending the Regulation on the legal metrological controlof measuring instruments

In accordance with Article 11t(1) of the Act of 10 April 1997 – Energy Law (Journal of Laws of 2022, item 1385, asamended), electricity distribution system operators (DSO) shall be obliged, until 31 December 2028, to install remotereading meters (VOC) connected to the remote reading system at energy consumption points representing at least 80 % ofthe total number of energy consumption points at final customers. The emergence of new remote reading meters on themarket results in the need to regulate the deadline for notification of those meters for the first time for re-legalization afterconformity assessment.

Currently, the deadline for the notification of electricity meters for the first time for re-legalisation after conformityassessment is 8 years and is regulated in Annex 5 (in Table 2, item no. 5) to the Regulation of the Minister ofEntrepreneurship and Technology of 22 March 2019 on the legal metrological control of measuring instruments (Journalof Laws, item 759, as amended), hereinafter referred to as ‘the Regulation’.
