Order on registration and reporting of packaging

The draft provides for an obligation for producers who place packaging on the market to register themselves or their representative in a register of producers, cf. §§ 3 to 9 of the draft.

The draft also provides for an obligation for the producer to report information on expected quantities of packaging placed on the market to the producer register organisation (Danish Producer Responsibility), cf. § 10 of the draft, and an obligation to pay a fee for registration, cf. § 11 of the draft.
‘Producer’ is defined in § 2(8) of the draft.
In addition, the draft contains provisions on self-monitoring of producers, collective schemes, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency’s and the Danish Producer Responsibility’s administrative cooperation and retention of documents, and provisions on supervision, complaint and penalty.
