The purpose of this Technical Specification is to lay down the requirements for the configuration of horizontal and vertical slab joints of concrete faced rockfill dams (CFRD) for the prevention of flanks adhesion. This is achieved by installing inserts or applying coatings to maintain the mobility of joints and avoid engagement of the aggregates granules of the adjacent layers, when this condition is provided for in the Study.
