Total diet replacement for weight control

ORDER approving the Notification procedure for products that are placed on the market as total diet replacement for weight control based on Article 7 of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/1798 of 2 June 2017 supplementing Regulation (EU) No 609/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the specific compositional and information requirements for total diet replacement for weight control

The order approves the Notification procedure for products that are placed on the market as total diet replacement for weight control based on Article 7 of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/1798 of 2 June 2017 supplementing Regulation (EU) No 609/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the specific compositional and information requirements for total diet replacement for weight control.

The Ministry of Health is the national competent authority for implementing the provisions of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/1798.
This notification procedure is set out in the Annex which forms an integral part of this Order and sets out the method for notifying total diet replacement for weight control products when placed on the market.
The procedure contains definitions of the terms used, the legal basis for the preparation/implementation of this procedure, the documents to be provided online by the food business operator to the Authority, the receipt by designated staff of marketing notifications and the analysis of legislative compliance and the display on the website of the Ministry of Health of the notified products.
