Regulation on the sustainable use of plant protection products

ROYAL DECREE XXXX/2022 OF XXXX AMENDING ROYAL DECREE 1311/2012 OF 14 SEPTEMBER 2012 ESTABLISHING A FRAMEWORK OF ACTION FOR ACHIEVING THE SUSTAINABLE USE OF PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCTS.

The draft consists of a preamble, an article and a final provision, with the following content:

The following Articles are amended by the sole Article:

a) Article 16.1 is amended in order to stipulate that the Plant Protection Treatment Logbook must be digital.
b) At the same time, a new Chapter XII is incorporated, establishing a framework of action for achieving the sustainable use of plant protection products, and Chapter XII and Article 53 are
renumbered as Chapter XIII and Article 56 respectively.
c) Article 53 is amended, stipulating that the existing farm logbook is to be made digital in order to have the information making it possible to set the indicators per hectare, and subsequently the calculation per farm.
d) Article 54 is amended, establishing that a reference value of the individual use indicator shall be set annually for each crop, where applicable for each productive area, and for each year. The reference values shall be established based on data collected at the level of each farm in accordance with the obligations laid down in Article 53.
e) And Article 55 provides for the various corrective actions on farms exceeding the values set in each case.

The sole final provision provides for the entry into force of the regulation on the day following its publication in the Official State Gazette.
