helmets for low-powered mopeds with a maximum speed of 25 k.p.h.
Regulation amending the Regulation on the designation of motorcycle and moped helmets
The Regulation lays down requirements for helmets for low-powered mopeds with a maximum speed of 25 k.p.h. Riders of these mopeds have a choice of two types of helmets. Article I (B) contains possible technical requirements. The 1990 Regulation on traffic rules and traffic signs introduced a helmet requirement for riders of low-powered mopeds with a maximum speed of 25 k.p.h. The Regulation specifies which type of helmet they are allowed to wear. Riders of low-powered mopeds with a maximum speed of 25 k.p.h. shall wear a helmet that meets the requirements of UNECE Regulation 22 or a helmet that meets the requirements of NTA 8776:2016.
There is no explicit provision for mutual recognition. The requirements apply to all helmets equally irrespective of the origin of the helmet.
