Draft Decree on the protection of selected species of carnivores and apes during breeding

The draft decree on the protection of selected species of carnivores and apes during breeding regulates the conditions for rearing selected species of carnivores and apes, requirements for construction, security, size and equipment of premises, housing conditions, and requirements for aids, feeding and watering of selected species of carnivores and apes. The list of species of carnivores that are among the selected species of carnivores is laid out in the Annex to Act No 246/1992 on the protection of animals against cruelty, as amended.

The draft decree applies to carnivores and apes kept, for example, as pets, for purposes of trade, in zoos or rescue centres.
The proposal does not contain references to national technical standards, technical documents or company standards, nor does it contain references to European regulations or European standards, harmonised standards or international standards containing a national annex or a national note or recommendations.
