Prohibition and warning signs used to warn or to provide information on the conduct of occupants of an electrical installation, taking into account the risk of personal injury or damage to property due to electricity.

The Swedish National Electrical Safety Board’s regulations and general advice on signage and marking of electrical installations

Today, the requirements on the signage of electrical installations are regulated in the Swedish National Electrical Safety Board’s regulations and general advice (2008:2) on warning markings at electrical installations.

These rules have been amended several times (2010 and 2021) and there is a need to update the language and references to other legislation. There is also a need to change some of the detailed requirements for the warning markings of certain types of electrical installations.
The regulation regulates how electrical installations are to be signed and marked in order to prevent personal injury and damage to property caused by electricity. The rules also set requirements on the design of prohibition and warning signs.
