This draft decree-law approves the voluntary scheme for optional labelling of meat and derivatives of meat from domestic animals, eggs for human consumption and milk, and it is open to operators or organisations of a professional or inter-professional nature who wish to label such products with a view to ensuring adequate information for consumers and the differentiated quality of those products, laying down the general principles and rules to be followed by this scheme, in particular as regards production methods or certain features of production or processing of foodstuffs.
