Draft Regulation of the Minister for Climate and Environment on quality requirements for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)

The proposed draft, prepared on the basis of standard PN-EN 589:2019-04, introduces the need for a new regulation due to the following changes resulting from the new quality requirements:

1) The ‘Total sulphur content’ parameter has been reduced from 50 mg/kg to 30 mg/kg,
2) The parameter ‘Propane content’ in LPG has been introduced and the permissible content has been set at 20% (m/m) until 30 April 2022 and at 30% (m/m) from 1 May 2022; this parameter and its effective dates have been established to allow operators to adapt to the new quality requirements,
3) The quality parameter ‘Total diene content (Including 1,3 butadiene)’ has been separated into two quality parameters, i.e.: ‘Total diene content’, where units were changed from % mol to % (m/m), and ‘1,3 butadiene content’ a new quality parameter, with maximum content of 0.10 % (m/m),
4) The name of the quality parameter ‘Relative vapour pressure at 40°C’ has been changed to ‘Vapour pressure, gauged at 40°C’,
5) The name of the quality parameter ‘Minimum temperature at which the vapour pressure gauge is not less than 150 kPa’ has been changed to ‘Temperature at which the estimated vapour pressure is not less than 150 kpa’.
