The proposal lays down administrative provisions and technical requirements for the approval and placing on the market of all new vehicles (class M, N and O), systems, components and separate technical units.

This regulation also lays down the requirements for the market surveillance of vehicles, systems, components and separate technical units that are subject to approval. This Regulation also lays down the requirements for the market surveillance of parts and equipment for such vehicles.

The Government will implement the new Regulation (EU 2018/858) on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles. On the occasion of this implementation, vi will make a new national regulation which also gives national rules concering approval of such vehicles.

The new national regulation will continue the contents of the current regulations, but inn a new structure. There will be no changes concerning the import of vehicles or national approval of new vehicles.
