Draft Order on the labelling and packaging of tobacco substitutes

The Order, on the basis of the applicable rules for tobacco products, lays down rules for the packaging, labelling and health warnings on tobacco substitutes.

It thus lays down, amongst other aspects, rules that unit packets of tobacco substitutes are to be marked with information on all the ingredients contained in the product, an indication of the nicotine content of the product, a batch number and a recommendation that they be kept out of the reach of children.
In addition, it lays down, amongst other aspects, rules stipulating that unit packets and any outside packaging are not to contain elements or features that promote a tobacco substitute.
For the health warning in particular, rules have been introduced on the wording, form and placement, including the use of font and size.
