Best practice guide to optimising the cost of achieving the minimum energy performance requirements for different categories of buildings

Best practice guide to optimising the cost of achieving the minimum energy performance requirements for different categories of buildings

The purpose of this regulation is to present the calculations for optimising the cost of achieving the minimum energy performance requirements for representative buildings such as the main categories of buildings in the tertiary sector, as well as residential buildings, apartment blocks and single-family housing.
This method of determining the optimal costs will apply to both new and existing buildings. The initial main objective is to establish reference buildings that are representative of the country’s buildings (both new and existing) and to propose the best solutions for increasing energy performance through a reduction in both energy consumption and, in particular, the costs of implementing these solutions.
The document is divided into several chapters. The first section focuses on the reference buildings and their energy consumption, followed by a section that looks at solutions, with an analysis of energy consumption directly correlated with the economic aspects. The second section is dedicated to calculating the overall cost based on the analysed solutions and the estimated consumption following implementation of the solutions packages for increasing energy performance using both renewable and non-renewable sources.
The main input parameters considered are the thermotechnical characteristics of the building envelope, the geometric characteristics of the buildings being studied, the characteristics of the systems, and the energy consumption and associated costs of these buildings.
The contents of the technical regulations are as follows:
Chapter 1. Main results (purpose) and conclusions, main input parameters
Chapter 2. Reference buildings and national building regulations
Chapter 3. Energy efficiency measures/packages/variants of measures
Chapter 4. Calculation of primary energy needs
Chapter 5. Calculation of the overall cost
Chapter 6. Derivation of the optimal cost
Chapter 7. Sensitivity analysis
Chapter 8. Differences between current energy performance requirements and the levels calculated as being the most cost-efficient
Chapter 9. Comparison of differences

Chapter 10. Bibliography
