Personal data from the health system

Draft Order of 21 April 2020 supplementing the Order of 23 March 2020 prescribing the organisational and operational health system measures necessary to deal with the COVID-19 epidemic in the context of the state of health emergency

In particular, the draft text provides that:

For the purposes of managing the health emergency and improving knowledge of the COVID-19 virus, the ‘Health Data Platform’ group and the French National Health Insurance Fund are authorised to receive certain categories of personal data (in particular pharmacy data, primary care data, results of clinical tests, data relating to emergencies, data relating to the activity and consumption of care in medical-social establishments or services and clinical data).

The group and the French National Health Insurance Fund may only collect the data necessary for the pursuit of a public interest objective related to the current COVID-19 epidemic.
