Regulation on the equipment and marking patterns of waterways crafts

The Parliament has adopted a new Act on Traffic on Water (782/2019) which will enter into force on 1 June 2020.

The Regulation provides the technical regulations for the equipment and marking patterns of waterways crafts, required under § 29 and § 108 of the Act on Traffic on Water. The new Act on Traffic on Water repeals the decision made by the Finnish Maritime Administration (register number 4/00/97) on the equipment of waterways crafts and the Decree on the prevention of collisions in internal fairways (252/1978, the so-called inland water rules). The Regulation would mainly provide regulations similar to those in the decision by the Finnish Maritime Administration and § 13 of the inland water rules
