Draft regulations on diving operations from ships.

The draft technical regulations shall apply to diving operations on Norwegian flagged vessels wherever they operate, and foreign flagged vessels operating in Norway's terrotorial waters.

Today, when workers employed in land based diving companies conduct inshore diving operations i Norway, a number of provisions under the Working Environment Act apply, including technicial provisions for the compressed air equipment used. Ship safety and working conditions for mariners fall outside of the scope of the Working Environment Act. The DTR thus makes these already established requirements for land based diving companies applicable also to diving operations performed by the crew on board vessels.
