First amendment to the Basis of assessment for plastics and other organic materials in contact with drinking water (KTW-BWGL)

The basis for assessment applies to plastics and other organic materials used for the construction or maintenance of installations for the production, processing or distribution of drinking water. The basis for assessment specifies the general drinking water requirements for organic materials. The basis for assessment contains definitive positive lists of base materials used for the production of plastics, organic coatings and lubricants in contact with drinking water.

The basis for assessment for plastics and other organic materials has already been notified under 2018/480/D. It is necessary to amend the basis for assessment as certain passages have been clarified and additional raw materials have been classified as suitable for use with drinking water systems in the intervening period and must be added to the positive list accordingly.
