Small-scale local production of meat products

Regulation governing and managing the small-scale local production of meat products, implementing Article 8(40) and (41) of Regional Law No 22 of 29 December 2010 (Financial Law 2011) and Article 13(2) of Regulation (EC) No 852/2004.

The draft Decree consists of two of the three annexes to Regional Government Decision No 40 of 18 January 2019 of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Annex 1, laying down the Regulation governing and managing the small-scale local production of meat products, implementing Article 8(40) and (41) of Regional Law No 22 of 29 December 2010 (Financial Law 2011) and Article 13(2) of Regulation (EC) No 852/2004, consists of twelve articles and one annex (Annex A):

- Article 1 lays down the purpose of the Decree;

- Article 2 defines the scope of application;

- Article 3 contains the definitions;

The following articles govern:

- Article 4 - the identification of animals;

- Article 5 - the start of activity;

- Article 6 - the requirements of the premises for processing products;

- Article 7 - the requirements of the ageing premises;

- Article 8 - the requirements of the sales premises;

- Article 9 - common provisions on hygiene and transport;

- Article 10 - common provisions on water;

- Article 11 - labelling;

- Article 12 - the procedures of self-checking and official checking;

- Annex A describes the meat products with reference to Article 3.

- Annex 2 of the Decision lays down the adjustments provided for the requirements included in Annex II of Regulation (EC) 852/2004 for the internal control system based on HACCP principles as well as for the microbiological criteria.
