This Draft Uganda Standard specifies the procedure for the ante-mortem and post-mortem inspection of poultry. Proper ante-mortem inspection of all poultry is essential to ensure that they are not affected with any disease or other condition which may render the flesh unwholesome. Post-mortem inspection is essential to detect poultry which may be diseased and thereby rendered unfit for human consumption. The elaboration of this standard is intended to fulfil the need for a uniform procedure for the region.
