Communiqué on TS EN ISO 4957 Tool Steels Standard (2 page(s), in English)
(1) This standard specifies the requirements for the following grades of wrought tool steels:
a) Unalloyed cold-worked tool steels
b) Alloyed cold-worked tool steels
c) Alloyed hot-worked tool steels
d) High-speed tool steels.
(2) Unless otherwise specified, this standard is valid for all types of hot-rolled, forged, cold drawn or cold rolled products or powder metallurgy products that supplied in one of surface and heat-treating conditions given in 6.2 and Table 1.
(3) Tables 2, 4, 6 and 8 cover only steels that have gained some level of international importance, but this does not mean that these steels available in every industrial country. In addition, many other steels for tools are specified in regional, national or company standards.
(4) In cases where the heat resistance of the tools is particularly important, such as hot-formed glass, the material selection is made according to ISO 4955.
