The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) proposes to amend the "Technical Specification for the Verification and Inspection of Water Meters by adding Section 4.8, which provides that where a water meter verified for metrological use is fitted with ancillary devices after [Date], legally mandated markings shall not be altered or their readability impaired, unless approval has been obtained from the dedicated weights and measures authority.
