This mandatory standard is a revision of the Thai Agricultural Standard (TAS) 9046–2017: Good Manufacturing Practices for Frozen Durian.

It covers good practice requirements for the production of frozen durian at all stages, starting from raw material receiving, preparing, freezing, handling, storing to transporting in order to obtain products that are safe and suitable for consumption.

The revised standard includes amendments to the following key aspects:

·        Revision of the scope of the standard to apply to the production, importation, and exportation of frozen durian;

·        Revision of the definition of "frozen durian";

·        Addition of requirements regarding management commitment to food safety;

·        Revision of requirements for receiving, inspection, and storage of durian raw materials;

·        Addition of clearer requirements for the preparation of raw materials begore freezing, packing and storage of frozen durian;

·        Revision of transportation requirements; and

·        Revision of requirements for documentation and records, requiring records to be maintained at all stages of the production process to support production improvement and enable traceability in case of product issues.
